This earthquake was the fourth known earthquake in Kiowa County, Oklahoma.

This was the first Oklahoma earthquake in 2001 known to have been felt.

The date and time of this earthquake was 2001 SEP02 5:48 PM CDT (the local
time), but it will be cataloged by it's Greenwich Mean Time (UTC): 22:48:42. 

The epicenter was 5 miles west of Sedan, where people felt the vibrations
and 6 miles south of Gotebo.

THE FOLLOWING FELT EFFECTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED:

Sedan, Kiowa Co., felt room shake, ... sounded like protracted thunder or
                  sonic boom
Sedan, chair rocked slightly,  pressure on feet, felt as if pressure wave
       was hitting bottom of house, ... Sound like local thunder,  not as a
       jet breaking sound but very deep and intense.  Sound at ground level.
       ... all pets stayed agitated for full 12 hours or more
